In order to improve the performance of materials and increase the utilization rate of wood resources, wood-plastic materials, as a substitute for safe and environmentally friendly new materials, have gradually emerged and gradually replaced products that cause pollution to the environment. The development of wood-plastic materials played a great role for the recycling of resources and environmental protection in our country.

Wood plastic material,as we all have known,is a new type of composite material that has been flourishing at home and abroad in recent years. It refers to the use of polyethylene,polypropylene and polyvinyl chloride, etc., instead of the usual resin adhesive, mixed with more than 35%-70% of wood flour, rice husk, straw and other waste plant fibers into new wood materials, and then through extrusion, molding, injection molding and other plastic processing technology, The production of the plate or profile, mainly used in building materials, furniture, logistics packaging and other industries.

As a new type of environmental protection material, wood plastic materials can replace wood, plastic steel, plastic, aluminum alloy, ceramics and other similar composite materials. Because the price of wood plastic materials is generally cheaper than wood, metal, marble and some other building landscape materials, the construction is convenient and not easy to corrosion, secondly, wood plastic composite materials are easy to obtain, recyclable, renewable and environmental protection. With the steady development of the industry, the products have penetrated into the garden, home decoration, automobile, transportation, packaging and even military fields, its application scope is expanding, coupled with the vigorous development of domestic circular economy, the market demand for wood plastic products is increasing day by day, the application prospect is very broad. During the period of 2017-2021, the production and sales volume of China's wood-plastic material industry maintained an annual growth trend, with the annual sales volume of 2021 reaching 3.83 million tons and 3.9 million tons, up 9.43% and 13.7%, respectively. It is expected that the sales volume in 2022 will be further increased, with the output reaching around 4.13 million tons and the sales volume reaching around 4.22 million tons.

 Most of the application scenarios of wood-plastic materials are concentrated in the building materials industry. The state and the government are also actively supporting the development of the building materials industry and issuing various policies to steadily promote the transformation and upgrading of the industry. In December 2022, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission and other departments jointly issued the Guiding Opinions on Further Promoting Green Industrial Development in the Yellow River Basin, proposing carbon reduction in the production process through process carbon reduction, process carbon reduction and raw material substitution in key industries such as coal chemical industry, non-ferrous metals and building materials in the Yellow River Basin. In December 2022, the National Development and Reform Commission issued the Implementation Plan for the 14th Five-Year Plan to Expand Domestic Demand, proposing to promote the application of green building materials and promote the use of green building materials in rural areas. We will transform and upgrade traditional industries and promote structural adjustment of industries in building materials and other raw materials.
